The popularity of fast grocery delivery platforms like Blinkit, Zepto, Big Basket, and Instamart has undoubtedly made shopping more convenient for many. However, this convenience has also posed a challenge to small neighborhood kirana shops. In response to this growing competition, a vendor in Bengaluru has come up with a creative solution to keep pace with the changing times.

A local vendor in Bengaluru has come up with a clever way to highlight the price difference between quick commerce apps and neighborhood shops.

The vendor put up a poster stating that apps like Zepto, Blinkit, and BigBasket charge anywhere between Rs 70 and Rs 80 for a coconut, while customers can purchase the same coconut for just Rs 55 at the local shop.

This advertisement was shared on X (formerly Twitter) by the user with the caption, "Will quick commerce affect roadside coconut vendors?" drawing attention to the competition between modern delivery platforms and traditional street vendors.

How did people respond?

In the comments section, users shared a variety of opinions.

One person noted, "Yes, in Delhi, the roadside vendors are selling coconuts for Rs 80, while Blinkit offers them for a lower price."

Another user took a different approach, humorously highlighting a common sentiment about pricing in India. This user suggested, "Even 50 is expensive for coconut. We should stop exporting coconut to other countries so that prices in India will come down."
