Locals react to Trump’s election night victory
PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WMBB) — Donald Trump will return to the Oval Office after engineering one of the most remarkable political comebacks in history.
Half of the nation is excited about Trump's victory.
Donald Trump reclaims the White House
"I believe that Donald J. Trump will, like he says, be the fixer," Panama City resident Timothy Stahl said.
"I was very much hoping for a Trump win. We were headed in the wrong direction. We were jeopardizing everything we're supposed to stand for," Panama City resident Sandra Tucker said.
"I'm loving what I'm seeing. I hope everything that I heard throughout the last three months comes to fruition," Panama City Beach resident Mark Wilson said.
Congressman Neal Dunn, who was also re-elected for his 5th term, said he believes Trump's leadership and business skills are what the country needs right now.
"He's actually a nice guy. He likes Americans, generally likes democrats, he doesn't hate democrats. He hired a bunch of Democrats, frankly, and he was a practicing Democrat for most of his life. This is a guy who can work across the aisle," Dunn said.
But millions of other Americans woke up Wednesday morning feeling defeated. Panama City resident Tina Woods believes Trump poses a threat to the health care plan of her wife who is a 30-year military veteran.
"It scares me because I'm going to a cancer center right now, and he wants to get rid of the health care. My wife is a 30-year veteran. My marriage is 16 years, 11 on paper. I feel like my ass has been handed to me," Woods said.

Woods added that Trump is only motivated by money.
"He's just crazy. He's just greedy. He's a little kid. He likes big toys," Woods said.
It remains to be seen if Trump can heal some of America's partisan wounds. He'll be sworn into office on January 20.
