Lois Ruth Hinrichs

March 19, 1928 - September 9, 2024

Lois Ruth Hinrichs passed on to her God after a life of service. She was born on a farm in Ohio to William and Anna Tegtmeier with the assistance of seven brothers and sisters. At 96, Lois was preceded in death by her beloved husband Peter and many family members and good friends. Lois and Peter met while working at the Lutheran Synod headquarters in Columbus, Ohio. After Peter's ordination they began their ministry together in Redfield, SD where their two sons, Mark and Steven were born. After serving for more than 35 years at St John Lutheran Church (SJLC) in Dickinson, ND they retired to pursue their interests in nature, music and literature. Lois was an avid bird watcher and ensured even the humble sparrows were fed along with their feathered and furred friends in the cold of winter. She greatly enjoyed hiking with family and friends in the mountains outside of Cooke City, MT. A memorial service will be held at St John after the fall harvest is complete. Memorials can be sent to the SKLC endowment in her name.
