"The Elves and the Shoemaker" performance: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Erie Community Library, 400 Powers St., Erie. Once upon a time ... a group of student actors from BackStory Theatre travelled to perform "The Elves and the Shoemaker" for young audiences. This 30-minute play is especially designed to be an interactive experience that encourages children to participate in the storytelling themselves. "Forever Plaid" performance: 2 p.m. Sunday, Longmont Theatre Company, 513 Main St., Longmont. "Forever Plaid" is a delightful, mischievous story about "the Plaids," four young men who love singing harmony but are killed in a car accident on their way to first big gig. They linger in limbo until an astro-techincal phenomena returns them to Earth to perform one last time and hopefully win a place in heaven in their deluxe plaid dinner jackets. $35, 303-772-5200, longmonttheatre.org .

"The ABCs Of Book Banning" documentary screening: 2 p.m. Sunday, Longmont Museum, 400 Quail Road, Longmont. In honor of Banned Books Week, the Longmont Public Library teams up with the Longmont Museum for a screening of the 2024 Academy Award Nominee for Best Short Film, "The ABCs of Book Banning," followed by "Books on the Chopping Block," a selection of readings from the Top 10 most frequently challenged books of 2023 presented by Outlaw Production Collective.
