LAKE CITY, Fla. (WCJB)—The results of the Columbia County Commission District One election reveal a loss for a long-time commissioner.

Ron Williams, the longest-serving Columbia County commissioner has lost against newcomer Kevin Parnell, who received 55% of the vote.

After Parnell had won the election, he addressed his constituents.

"First things first, let me thank the constituents of District One for believing in me and putting their faith in me to be the change they need and to bring this county to where it needs to be over the next 4 years. Hopefully, maybe a few more terms after that, but it feels very, very joyous and I'm very grateful to be here," said Parnell.
