Longview’s Taylor scores, Incarnate Word clinches Southland title

NACOGDOCHES, Texas (KLTV) - Former Longview Lobo Dekalon Taylor found the end zone once again as Incarnate Word wins the Southland Conference following a 27-20 win over SFA. Taylor's touchdown came in the second quarter. Taylor capped off a 5-play, 42-yard drive with a 7-yard rushing touchdown to put the Cardinals ahead 13-6 with 4:52 left in the half. Taylor finished the day with 12 carries for 74 yards and a touchdown. The junior has 9 rushing touchdowns this year to go along with a punt return touchdown. For SFA, Trashawn Adams (Jasper) had two tackles and an interception. Luke Watson (Gilmer) also had two tackles, while Chris Campos (Nacogdoches) made all four of his field goal attempts from 30, 23, 31 and 36 yards. Incarnate Word moves to 9-2 overall and 6-0 in conference play. The Cardinals wrap up their regular season on the road against East Texas A&M on Nov. 23. SFA drops to 6-5 overall and 4-3 in conference play. The Lumberjacks will wrap up the regular season at home against Abilene Christian on Nov. 23.
