Looking at mayoral races around the Sacramento region
(FOX40.COM) — Along with voting for a new president, many Sacramento area residents also voted for who will lead their city councils as mayor.
The region's largest cities, Sacramento and Stockton, will have new representation in the mayor's seat in 2025.
Northern California County-by-County Results
Sacramento Mayor Darrell Steinberg announced he would not be seeking reelection and Stockton Mayor Kevin Lincoln ran against Rep. Josh Harder for California's 9th Congressional District.
Election offices have 30 days following the closing of polls to ratify the final election results.
Sacramento Mayoral Race
In Sacramento, California State Assemblyman Kevin McCarty faced Flojaune Cofer for mayor.
Sacramento County approves amendment banning encampments on public property
As of Thursday morning, McCarty holds 55.18% of the vote with 46,226 votes and Cofer has 44.82% of the vote with 37,542 votes.
Stockton Mayoral Race
In Stockton, San Joaquin Supervisor Tom Patti is facing former Stockton City Council member Christina Fugazi.
Hollywood Unlocked CEO leads in Stockton City Council race
As of Thursday morning, Fugazi has secured the most votes, 52.43%, compared to Patti's 47.57%.
Mayoral Races Around the Region
The city of Tracy is looking at a three-way race for mayor between Tracy City Council member Dan Arriola, Tracy Mayor Pro Tempore Eleassia Davis and former San Joaquin County Parks & Recreation Commissioner Mary Mitracos.
As of Thursday morning, Arriola holds a nearly 17-point lead over Davis and a nearly 25-point lead over Mitracos.
In the Solano County city of Dixon, Mayor Steve Bird is seeking reelection and early results show that he has taken a strong lead.
With nearly 7,000 votes being counted so far, Bird has pulled in 58.1% of the vote from his opponent Dixon City Treasurer James Ward Jr., who holds 41.9% of the vote.
