Looking at the Broncos remaining schedule
S.Brown3 months ago
Broncos Country is alive and smiling with how well their team is playing football right now. While I’m not ready to talk about playoffs yet, I think a good look at the upcoming schedule is a worthwhile endeavor now that this team has climbed back up to .500. I’ll give some thoughts on each matchup with who I see as having the advantage in the game. Week 12: vs Cleveland Browns This isn’t going to be an easy game for the Broncos. Cleveland’s defense is very good and they have a sound run game. I almost want to call this a push, but the Broncos get this one at home.Advantage: Week 13: at Houston Texans The Texans have an invigorated fan base much like the Broncos with some really good football being played by their team for the first time in a long time. When I look closer though, their schedule has a lot of wins on it against fairly poor competition. I think the Broncos' defense along with a better quarterback in Russell Wilson gives the Broncs the edge.Advantage: Week 14: at Los Angeles Chargers Ah, yes...our annual extra home game against the Chargers . This is another team that has won against some questionable opponents. It is a division game, so they know us enough to be dangerous any time we play them. I still like our odds though.Advantage: Week 15: at Detroit Lions Here’s the first goliath on the remaining schedule. The Lions are for real and they are playing inspired football. Add to it that this game is away and I’m not liking the odds we have of getting a win in Detroit.Advantage: Week 16: vs New England Patriots They have no offense. Their coaching looks completely lost without a franchise quarterback, a couple of video cameras, and a pile of footage on their opponent’s play signals.Advantage: Week 17: vs Los Angeles Chargers If things go well for the Broncos, this game the Chargers will be looking to play spoilers. I don’t think it is a gimme by any stretch of the imagination, but the Broncos are really actually at home for this game which should give them all the advantage they need to come out with a win.Advantage: Week 18: at Las Vegas Raiders This could be a huge game for the Broncos. With their poor conference record to date, they may very well likely need a win to get to the postseason. The Raiders with an absolute joke of a coach beat them in week one. I think this will be the toughest game the Broncos will have outside of Detroit. I give the Raiders the edge here because they will have nothing to lose and can play more loosely than the Broncos.Advantage: Raiders (/puke) NFL News: NFL Power Rankings, Week 12: Eagles stay at No. 1, while Chiefs slip; Broncos continue steady climb
