NORTH CAROLINA ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — Are you trying to reach a loved one in western North Carolina affected by Hurricane Helene?

According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Emergency Management, if they've been unreachable, folks can visit www.nc211.org to submit a request for them to be included in the search and rescue efforts coordinated by United Way – North Carolina.

Visit unitedwaync.org to fill out a form.

Questions on food, shelter, roadways. Who can I call?

You may dial 2-1-1 for any non-emergency-related questions.

Can I get around Western NC? Current road conditions?

If you do not need to travel for an emergency reason, stay off the roads in Western NC. You can see the current roadway conditions by visiting DriveNC.Gov .

Disaster Assistance

FEMA has begun taking applications for the Individual Assistance Program, which includes money for emergency housing at hotels, immediate recovery needs, and more.
