Lorenzen, Dordt roll to win over Dakota State

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — The Dordt men's basketball team tallied an 89-62 win on Wednesday night, as they defeated Dakota State at the Sanford Pentagon.

The first half was lower scoring as the Defenders built a 38-24 halftime lead.

However, the Dordt offense exploded in the second half, shooting 57% and scoring 51 points on their way to the 27 point win.

Lucas Lorenzen led the Defenders with 25 points. Bryce Coppock added 13, while Jake Hargens posted 11.

A dozen players scored for the Trojans in the loss. Lane Tietz was the only one to post double digits, scoring 14 points.

Klay Thompson exited the team bus then beamed as he strolled back into Chase Center on Tuesday night, greeted by some 400 cheering Warriors employees who lined up along his path to the Dallas locker room to show their love and appreciation for the former Golden State star.
