oretta K. Parkinson, of Iroquois Street, Emmaus, died Monday at the Lehigh
Valley Hospital, Allentown.
Born in Plymouth, she was the daughter of the late John and Madge (Golden)
Young Kinney. She was a graduate of Wyoming High School. She was a member of
Wyoming United Methodist Church, Methodist Women and Harmony Chapter 58 Order
of Eastern Star, Wyoming. She was a former member of the Wyoming Women’s Club
and Wyoming Rotary Anns.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin; and brothers, Milton and
Kenneth Kinney.
Surviving are her daughter, Madge P. Rogers, Great Meadows, N.J.; two
grandchildren; and brother, Alvin Kinney, Riverside.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday from the Metcalfe & Shaver
Funeral Home Inc., 504 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, with the Rev. James Thyren
officiating. Interment will be in Wyoming Cemetery. Friends may call from noon
to 1 p.m. Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to
Wyoming United Methodist Church, 376 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, 18644; or to the
Northeastern Pennsylvania Council of Boy Scouts of America, 1 Bob Mellow
Drive, Moosic, 18507.
