LOS LUNAS, N.M. (KRQE) – There's been another delay for the long-standing I-25 interchange project within Los Lunas. The project is supposed to help alleviate traffic congestion for commuters on Main Street in Los Lunas.

Construction begins on two major Albuquerque interchanges

It will entail adding a new road between I-25 and Highway 47 near Morris Road. Recently, the village announced they received a $25 million grant to fund the project. "This has been a long-standing problem in the village; it's still a problem today. We still do see a lot of congestion," says Erin Callahan, Deputy Village Administrator. "We do think it's very realistic that we will be having a groundbreaking in March 2025."

They say the next step is setting a construction company to take a bid by December. It was originally supposed to break ground this fall.
