Elizabeth Abiles of Vienna has a little more money to spend than the Marquinas. She bought a ticket for the September 16 Powerball drawing online. She won $1 million. (She came within on number of hitting the $165 million jackpot.)

Finally, it was all smiles for Lisa Eichinger of Haymarket as she held up her oversized check, made out in the amount of $1,505,299.

The Virginia Lottery said Eichinger was at a stoplight, when she took out her Cahs 5 with EZ Match ticket to check the winning numbers. She had time to see one match before the light turned green. At the next red light, she checked another number and saw her second match. The pattern continued until she found that she had matched all numbers for her big win.

"I'm still in shock!" she said when she redeemed her winning ticket. "I feel like I'm dreaming! I'm just letting it sink in."

Eichinger, who is a teacher, bought the wining ticket for the September 30 drawing at Evergreen Liberty, located at 3511 James Madison Hwy. in Haymarket.
