Louisiana Man Sentenced To Prison For Drug Trafficking And Gun Possession
Travis Jackson, a 34-year-old resident of New Orleans, was sentenced to 60 months in federal prison on November 12, 2024, for drug trafficking and illegal gun possession.
According to court documents, Jackson was involved in a drug trafficking operation that involved the distribution of fentanyl. The FBI conducted a series of controlled drug purchases and wiretaps, which implicated Jackson and his co-conspirators in the illicit drug trade.
During a search warrant execution, law enforcement officers arrested Jackson and seized a firearm, which he was prohibited from possessing due to prior felony convictions.
This case is part of the Department of Justice's Project Safe Neighborhoods initiative, aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence.
