Luzerne County sees record turnout, over 40,000 mail-in ballots cast

Luzerne County Manager Romilda Crocamo says the county saw a larger turnout than ever before during Tuesday's election.
The county received over 40,000 mail-in ballots.
Despite a few issues on Election Day, including several polling locations opening late and even a bomb threat being received at the Election Bureau, Crocamo says Election Day went well overall.
There are always problems at polling sites, we send out over a thousand pieces of equipment. We depend on a lot of human hands and when there are human being and human hands involved it increases the probability of mistakes or snafus," Crocamo explained.
The Luzerne County Election Board will begin the adjudication process for the general election Friday.
