R.Green2 hr ago
STOP!If you want to watch the simulation without spoilers, start the above video — or if you can't see it, .Here's what happened in our simulation:First quarter The Kansas City Chiefs had a successful opening drive, marching 73 yards in seven plays and scoring a touchdown with Travis Kelce. This was the strong start the Chiefs needed. The Falcons' subsequent drive stalled near midfield when Mike Danna sacked Kirk Cousins.End of the first quarter: Chiefs 7, Falcons 0Second quarter Carson Steele started the game, and Andy Reid used him for five running plays, gaining 10 yards. While it wasn't the best drive for the Chiefs, kicker Harrison Butker managed to hit a field goal. Both teams struggled with stalled drives, exchanging possessions back and forth. With less than a minute left in the quarter, the Falcons finally reached the red zone. Younghoe Koo secured the Falcons' first points with just one second remaining in the quarter.End of the second quarter: Chiefs 10, Falcons 3Third quarter The Falcons' second-half performance mirrored their first, but they successfully converted their third downs this time. They dominated the field for over seven minutes, culminating in a touchdown from Kyle Pitts that tied the game. On the Chiefs' next drive, Mahome's initial pass to Travis Kelce was intercepted by linebacker Kaden Ellis. Cousins then linked up with Darnell Mooney for a touchdown, giving the Falcons the lead over the Chiefs.End of the third quarter: Falcons 17, Chiefs 10Fourth quarter After a third quarter the Chiefs would like to forget, Kansas City's offense began to play like the Chiefs offense we have grown accustomed to watching. Rashee Rice made an incredible catch to keep his feet in bounds. A few players later, Mahomes would connect with Kelce once again for his second touchdown, which would tie the game. George Karlaftis wrapped up Bijan Robinson, forcing a fourth down deep in Chiefs territory. Koo then kicked a field goal, giving the Falcons a three-point lead over the Chiefs. On the next drive, Mahomes completed a crucial fourth-and-9 pass to Rice, who gained 25 yards. Xavier Worthy contributed with three receptions for first downs. When the Chiefs reached the 10-yard line, they handed the ball off to rookie Carson Steele, who powered into the end zone for the game-winning touchdown.Final score: Chiefs 24, Falcons 20Notable stats Patrick Mahomes 26/33, 278 yards, 2 TD, 1 INT Kirk Cousins 25/32, 309 yards, 2 TD, 1 INT Carson Steele 11 att, 45 yards, 1 TD, 3 rec, 15 yards Bijan Robinson 9 att, 51 yards, 7 rec, 42 yards Xavier Worthy 8 rec, 118 yards JuJu Smith-Schuster 7 rec, 35 yards Travis Kelce 5 rec, 69 yards, 2 TD Rashee Rice 2 rec, 30 yards Darnell Mooney 7 rec, 80 yards, 1 TD Drake London 7 rec, 137 yards Chamarri Conner 5 total, 2 solo, 1 sack Mike Danna 3 total, 1 solo, 1 sack Drue Tranquill 5 total, 3 solo, 1 INT In Week 4, the Chiefs are on the road in Los Angeles to take on the Chargers.
