Maebe shoppers fume as Molly-Mae fails to disclose what the items in her 'accessible luxury' collection are actually made from

Molly-Mae fans have been left furious after the star failed to disclose the exact composition of items in her new clothing range on her website.

The former Love Island star, 25, from Manchester, launched her highly anticipated brand Maebe last night - with every item selling out in a matter of minutes.

The first collection, billed as an 'accessibly luxury' line by the star, consisted of eight products - including their 'ultimate' blazer, adjustable jeans and cropped cardigan - and prices ranged from £35 to £140.

However, shoppers were quick to point out that the website did not detail what any of the clothes were actually made of.

For instance, the £60 cardigan - which comes in both grey and cream - is only described as having a 'touch of wool'.

The product description reads: 'The cropped cardigan is made from a dense compact knit with a touch of wool for a cosy (not scratchy), elevated feel.'

The webpage goes on to say that the item is made of a 'mixed composition', without detailing what the other materials are.

Meanwhile, the brand describe their £50 Contour Popper Top as being made a 'buttery soft stretch fabric'.

The description adds: 'Using a buttery soft, heavyweight stretch knitted jersey to contour your body whilst also giving support and a smoothing effect.'

Although the brand fails to delve into the exact composition, they do acknowledge that there is a 'semi brushed finish to reverse of fabric'.

Maebe also warned that their £140 'ultimate' blazer's fabric has a 'fibrous surface to enhance the soft touch finish' that will bobble if 'rubbed a lot'.

After browsing the collection online, one X user wrote: 'Sus[picious] that Maebe isn't disclosing their fabric composition or materials.'

Quoting some of the product descriptions, they continued: '"Heavyweight woven fabric." "Cotton jersey." "Cotton mixed with polyester."

'Likely overpriced plastic and cheap materials.'

Another added on TikTok: 'There's no proof it's good quality given they don't describe the material composition. It'll probably be crappy polyester.'

A third wrote: 'It's not just that it's the fact she hasn't disclosed the materials or composition that have been used to make the fabric and thus people are buying it completely blind to what they are buying at such a large price tag.'

Meanwhile, a fourth said: 'I really can't wait for the reviews because there is actually some nice stuff but I don't know if it's worth it.'

Ahead of the launch, Maebe posted a glimpse into Molly-Mae's phone camera roll on Instagram - which included a photo of a swing tag.

The tag - which wasn't attached to any item - read: '90% cotton. 5% nylon. 5% wool.'

Last night, some disappointed shoppers branded the Maebe collection 'overpriced' and 'unaccessible.

They wrote: '£140 for a blazer and £90 for jeans! Criminallllllll behaviour. Was so excited for this launch but £140 for a blazer is wild. £90 for jeans I'm too broke for this.'

Another added: 'Today's the day... that we get a nasty taste in our mouths from overpriced clothing.... I know she's got millions of followers (me included!) but I will no longer be following Maebe. There's zero maybes from me as to whether I'd waste my money on this. I don't think I'm alone. It's accessible to "all women who have over 6 figures in their bank accounts". Back to Zara for me then!!!'

'Omg her stuff's lovely but the person she is though she would off have gave everyone a chance to buy blazer £140 crazyyyyy £39 for the plain top she defo needs to reevaluate them prices ...I could afford to buy it but for those that can't'; 'Prices are so bad to expensive i think its sad she is going high end!'

Meanwhile other fans disagreed, writing: 'The prices aren't even bad, she's selling nice quality basics you'll have for years not £3 Shein tops'; 'Everyone complaining about the price have to realise this isn't SHEIN. She is going for a more high class brand. It will sell out as many people actually can afford this, unlike those complaining about the price';

'When will you people realise she has stepped away from fast fashion so her clothing will not be fast fashion prices ! Her main target audience are the young girlies so it might be Christmas presents for them';

'The price really depends on the quality of the item. Think about clothes you have bought for cheaper but not lasted long. These are classic staple items that are investments , and should therefore get so much more wear of them.'

Femail has contacted Maebe for comment.
