MAFS stars Martha Kalifatidis and Michael Brunelli ditch Melbourne Cup Carnival celebrations for low-key family weekend with son Lucius, one

Married at First Sight stars Martha Kalifatidis and fiance Michael Brunelli ditched the glitz and glamour of the Melbourne Cup Carnival over the weekend in favour of some low-key family fun.

Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, Michael, 33, shared a series of videos and pics that showed he, Martha, 36, and Lucius enjoying a raft of activities, while revellers were kicking up their heels at Derby Day at Flemington Racecourse.

And they certainly packed a lot in, with son Lucius, one having the time of his life doing some backyard chores and landscaping with dad.

The cherubic tot was also in his element happily going for a ride inside a toy car on a store visit.

Then it was a quick outfit change into a Batman costume and Lucius was very much in character as he ran around the backyard.

The family then found the time to attend a third birthday party and one video showed the Incredible Hulk entertaining the throng of excited children.

Another photo showed Lucius draped in a hooded Roxy towel after a swim while doting dad Michael stood close by.

The bond was illustrated perfectly in another photo that showed Michael kissing his Lucius as he held his son in his arms.

It wasn't all child's play, though with one photo showing the family enjoying some downtime and a coffee at a local cafe.

Another photo showed the happy family together with Martha beaming as she porudly stood next to her fiance and son.

One eagle eyed fan however suggested there might have been a secret wedding take place as Michael was wearing a band on his ring finger.

Love these little photos. Love seeing how you guys grow as a couple. And as individuals. ( also is that a wedding band micheal, has there been a secret wedding?),' the sleuth wrote.

Michael was quick to dispel the rumour with: 'no secret wedding, I just wore it on that finger without thinking.'

Others were quick to gush over the family post and in particular cute-as-a-button Lucius.

'Such a happy, content, gorgeous boy,' one fan offered while another chimed in with a similar: ' He is the most adorable little boy.'

Martha and Michael met and fell in love during the sixth season of MAFS in 2019 and they welcomed their first child Lucius in February last year.

And they have been frequent attendees at Melbourne Cup Carnival celebrations with Martha stepping out, with mum Mary, to the 2022 Melbourne Cup while pregnant with Lucius.

The following year, both Martha and Michael flaunted their sartorial style at the G.H Mumm Derby Day party.

Martha recently hit back at online trolls who accused her of sponging off her parents.

Martha, Michael, and Lucius currently live with Martha's parents Mary and Theo in their Melbourne home.

The reality star took to Instagram in September to answer a rather loaded question from one fan, pulling no punches in her response.

'Why don't you and Michael pay your own way like the rest of the world?' they asked, referring to the young family's current living situation.

Martha rejected the claim that she was sponging off her parents, saying the decision to live with Theo and Mary was not financially motivated.

'Our living arrangement has nothing to do with money,' she wrote.

'The sad thing is you probably believe we live with my parents to capitalise off of the situation. That is the furthest [thing] from the truth.'

She added that her young family's current living situation was beneficial to all involved.

'In reality, we mutually enjoy it,' she said.

'Living in a multigenerational home with my parents brings us closer, fosters mutual support and creates a rich environment where wisdom and experience blend. It also brings my parents happiness.'
