Maine police arrest 4 on drug charges following traffic stop

Maine State Police arrested four individuals on drug charges after stopping a vehicle in Fairfield for inoperable tail lights Saturday night.

After a trooper stopped the vehicle on Route 201, he recognized driver Daniel Pallis, 35, and passenger Maria Jackson, 30, as two people who in August fought with a trooper who was trying to arrest Jackson in Augusta, according to Lt. Aaron M. Turcotte.

Pallis, of Dresden, was charged with aggravated trafficking of schedule W drugs and two counts of violating conditions of release. Jackson, of Richmond, was charged with aggravated trafficking of schedule W Drugs and an arrest warrant for refusing to submit to arrest or detention and violating conditions of release.

Police arrested two other passengers: Paul Duplin, 35, of Whitefield, who was charged with aggravated trafficking of schedule W drugs, violating conditions of release and unlawful possession of schedule W drugs and David Levasseur, 38, of Lisbon, who was charged with aggravated trafficking of schedule W drugs and trafficking in prison contraband.
