Man arrested after boy injured in Elizabeth City shooting
(WAVY) — A boy is in the hospital after a shooting in Elizabeth City on Saturday morning, police said.
At approximately 4:10 a.m., the Elizabeth City Police Department responded to 108 Queen Street for shots fired. Officers found the residence had been struck by gunfire and multiple shell casings were located in the vicinity.
The officers also discovered that a juvenile male had been struck in the leg by gunfire. He was transported to a local Sentara Hospital and is being treated for injuries that are not life-threatening.
Investigating officers located and seized two 9mm handguns and one .38 special revolver, according to a press release.
The suspects, a juvenile and adult, were located and detained near the location of the shooting. The charged adult is Quavion Martin, 20, of the 300 block of Bank Street in Elizabeth City. He has been charged with Felonious Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling.
Martin is under no bond in Albemarle District Jail and has a first appearance in Pasquotank County District Court on Tuesday, Nov. 12.
