Man caught breaking into cars in south Tupelo

TUPELO – Officers responding to a series of car burglaries spotted a man who had some of the purloined items on him.

Tupelo police were called to the Shea Street area Sept. 10 in reference to car burglaries. A victim told police that someone broke the window out of his vehicle and stole items. Following the call, multiple officers were patrolling the area and came in contact with an individual near the original call.

Property that had been stolen in the car burglary was found in the possession of Tiyosha L. Pratt, 27, of Nettleton, who was arrested and charged with burglary of a vehicle. His bond was set at $20,000 by Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Jay Weir.
