ST. LOUIS – A man recently charged in an August St. Louis murder case is accused of taking the victim's gun and using it to fire fatal shots.

The St. Louis Circuit's Attorney's Office has charged Dominic Cody, 25, of St. Louis, with first-degree murder, first-degree robbery and two counts of armed criminal action amid the investigation.

Cody's charges stem from a deadly shooting on Aug. 11 in the 5500 block of Genevieve Avenue in St. Louis' Walnut Park East neighborhood. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department reports that Marco Deloch, 16, of St. Louis, died in the shooting.

According to court documents obtained by FOX 2, based on witness accounts, Cody approached Deloch and suggested that the two exchange guns. A short time later, Cody "forcefully grabbed" one of Deloch's handguns and shot him in the chest, per court documents.

Investigators say that Cody took a second gun from Deloch before he ran away from the scene. Deloch died from his injuries. Authorities arrested Cody on Sept. 5 in connection with Deloch's death.

Cody was ordered to jail without bond, according to online Missouri court records. He has a preliminary hearing over the murder case scheduled for Oct. 10.
