Man dead after crash on Interstate 91 in Norwalk

NORWALK, Conn. (WTNH) — A man is dead following a crash on I-91 South in Norwalk Tuesday.

According to police, at around 3:37 p.m., Tiofilo Cruz, 63, of New York was driving a 2023 Nissan Altima near Exit 16 in the right lane of three when, for an unknown reason, the car collided with a concrete jersey barrier in the right shoulder. After colliding with the barrier, the car rolled onto its rooftop.

Cruz was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead at around 4:24 p.m.

This is an active investigation.
