Man dies in workplace accident at Co Tyrone factory

The incident happened at the Trade Mouldings production plant on Sandholes Road in Cookstown on Wednesday morning.

The company, which makes doors for the home furniture markets, confirmed the deceased was a member of staff.

Management have offered condolences to grieving family members and friends.

"Its with great sadness that we have to report there has be a fatal accident involving one of our employees in our factory this morning," the directors said in a statement.

"Our condolences are with his immediate family at this time.

"The incident is currently under investigation by the police and HSE.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and work colleagues at this difficult time."

The PSNI said officers are currently at the scene of a sudden death at the site.

A spokesperson confirmed the Health and Safety Executive NI, which investigates workplace accidents, has been informed.

The HSE(NI) said it is aware of the incident and are attending the site.
