Man faces charges for additional sexual assault of a minor in Waterbury
WATERBURY, Conn (WTNH) — Waterbury police say a suspect is facing charges for the alleged sexual assault of a minor.
Michael Dewitt, 45, of Seymour is already facing similar charges for allegedly kidnapping a minor in Waterbury and multiple sexual assaults against a victim in New Haven dating back about a decade ago.

He is scheduled to be in court on Thursday, Nov. 5. for the Waterbury charges and is due in court on Friday, Nov. 6, for the New Haven charges.
Waterbury police said Dewitt is going to be served an arrest warrant in court on Thursday for the new Waterbury charges, which are related to another incident that allegedly happened in September.
In this latest case, he's facing charges of sexual assault in the first degree, sexual assault in the fourth degree, and commercial sexual abuse of a minor.
According to police, on Sept. 28, the victim was walking home when they were lured into the suspect's car.
When the victim was inside the car, Dewitt allegedly sexually assaulted them, police said.
When the arrest warrant is served Thursday, Dewitt will be charged in three separate sexual assault cases in total.
Dewitt is in custody at the Connecticut Department of Corrections on a $550,000 bond. The new Waterbury warrant has a court-ordered bond of $750,000.
