Man Fatally Shot in Westmont Area
A man was fatally shot in an unincorporated area east of Inglewood Sunday, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
Around 4:30 p.m. Sunday, the sheriff's department's South Los Angeles Station received a call regarding an assault with deadly weapon in the 1300 block of 97th Street, between Normandie Avenue and Budlong Avenue, in the Westmont area of Los Angeles.
Officers who arrived at the scene found the victim seated inside a white sedan parked in the driveway of a residence, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to Homicide investigators, multiple gunshots were heard in front of the residence and a vehicle was heard speeding away eastbound on the West 97th.
