Man Gets 268 to Life for Molesting 2 Girls in Tustin

A 51-year-old man has been sentenced to 268 years to life in prison for sexually assaulting two girls he was related to in Tustin when they were 7 and 8 years old, according to court records obtained Monday.

Manuel Dejesus Serrano Sr., who was sentenced Friday, was convicted March 7 of 18 felony sex counts against the two victims, going back to 2003 for one victim.

One of the girls said the abuse started when she was 8 in Los Angeles County, police said in the defendant's preliminary hearing. She said the abuse stopped, but resumed when she moved back in with him when she was 14 and continued until she was 16, police said.

The other victim said the abuse started when she was 7 to 8 years old and alternated in Compton and in Tustin where the defendant lived, police said.
