Man in custody after stabbing in Coventry
COVENTRY — Shortly after midnight on Friday, Coventry police officers were dispatched to an address on South Street for a disturbance and discovered a male with a knife wound lying on the ground near the road's edge.
The disturbance began at a nearby residence which involved two males and a female. The accused entered the residence and caused a disturbance. The disturbance then turned physical and the male victim suffered injuries after being assaulted with a knife. The other male fled the scene but later turned himself into Coventry police.
Daniel Chagnot, 48, of 65 South Road, Bolton, was charged in the incident. He was held on a $50,000 bond and arraigned in court on November 1. According to CT Judicial records, Chagnot's bond was raised to $250,000, and he is being held at the Department of Corrections.
Chagnot was charged with first degree assault, second degree threatening, disorderly conduct, second degree criminal mischief and home invasion.
