Man indicted for murder of Cleveland father of girl disabled from police chase crash

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - A Cuyahoga County Grand Jury indicted a man accused of murdering the father of a toddler critically injured in a police chase crash in February 2023. Ralph Jackson, 35, was indicted on the charges of murder, felonious assault, tampering with evidence, and having weapons under disability for the Nov. 3. shooting of Chezarae Jackson. Chezarae Jackson, 37, died after being shot in the 22400 block of E. 124th St. in Cleveland. Chezarae Jackson is the father of Lotus Legaci Love Jones. The two-year-old girl was in her mother's car when they were struck by a drunk driver fleeing East Cleveland police on Feb. 22, 2023. The crash happened on Euclid Avenue in front of University Hospitals. Cleveland police said the driver, Daryl Brown, hit multiple vehicles, injuring several people. In November 2023, Brown was sentenced to eight years in prison.who paralyzed baby during police chase Lotus is now paralyzed and unable to walk or talk. Family members told 19 News she requires 24-hour care. Ralph Jackson is being held on a $1 million bond and is scheduled to return to court on Nov. 20 for a pre-trial.
