GREENSBORO — A man who pleaded guilty to the 2022 armed robbery of a Greensboro food truck and a charge of attempted murder of a witness to the crime was sentenced Thursday in federal court to 35 years in prison, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.

Ryan Lewis Little, 40, of New York pulled a pistol and demanded money from an owner of the Big Gay Food Truck in the parking lot of the Chemistry Nightclub on Spring Garden Street on April 8, 2022, according to prosecutors.

The crime was caught on tape by the food truck's security camera. The footage showed the suspect wielding a silver pistol during the stick-up, then pushing the owner and running away once told there was no cash.

Four days later, prosecutors said, Little shot a witness to the crime in the face, retaliation for the witness speaking about the incident with police investigators.

Little fled the state for New York after the crime, court records say.

On April 20, 2022, Little allegedly committed another armed robbery at a New York City restaurant and was subsequently caught by police, hiding in park bushes. A witness told police Little had attempted to carjack him in the city, according to court records.

On May 10, 2022, Little pleaded guilty to charges of interference with commerce by robbery and retaliating against a witness by attempted murder in connection with the stick- up at the Big Gay Food Truck and witness shooting.

He later pleaded guilty to the New York armed robbery charges.

On Wednesday, Little was sentenced in U.S. District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina in Greensboro for charges in both states, according to court staff.

No information was immediately available about where Little will be detained or when he may be eligible for parole.
