- More deadly gunfire has rung out, this time in Wissinoming, claiming the life of a 41-year-old man. The violent encounter happened Saturday evening a little after 7 p.m., on the 2000 block of East Cheltenham Avenue, according to authorities. Police say the victim, a 41-year-old man, was ambushed outside his house as he parked his car. They say a suspect pulled up next to him and shot him several times, and the fatal blow was to the chest. Investigators found seven shell casings at the scene. He was rushed to Frankford Torresdale where he died. "Additionally, it appears the shooter brazenly stopped at the stoplight, at the red light traffic light, just a block down and stayed there for a few cycles of the traffic light before eventually speeding off," Philadelphia Police Inspector D.F. Pace explained. "A portion of this incident was captured on video, surveillance cameras, and we believe as we continue to canvas the area through our investigation, we believe we're gonna find more footage. It'll give us more information." Police say the man was targeted and the shooting wasn't random. They are looking for a gold-colored Chevy Trailblazer. They don't know if the victim was alone or with someone. Anyone with any information is urged to contact the Philadelphia Police Department Homicide Unit at 215-686-3334 or submit an anonymous tip via the PPD tipline at 215-686-TIPS (8477).. As in any homicide case, a $20,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction is being offered. Authorities have identified body parts found in a freezer earlier this year in Colorado as belonging to a teenager who went missing nearly two decades ago. The Mesa County Sheriff's Office confirmed that the remains are those of Amanda Leariel Overstreet, who had not been seen since April 2005. Her head and hands were discovered in a freezer at a home in Grand Junction, about 240 miles west of Denver, in January. Overstreet was the biological daughter of the home's previous owners. The remains were found when the new owners, who had recently purchased and remodeled the home, attempted to give away the freezer. Investigators have emphasized that the current owners are not connected to the case. Overstreet's disappearance had never been formally reported, and the case remains under investigation, according to the sheriff's office.
