Man Who Followed Parent Into Oswego School Faces Charges: Police Staff prevented the man from going into the secure area of the school, and he was later taken to a hospital for evaluation, police said.

OSWEGO, IL — Oswego police used license plate readers to help track down a man they say followed a parent into Fox Chase Elementary School and refused to answer questions from school staff Thursday morning, officials said.

At around 9:30 a.m., police said they received a report of a suspicious person who followed a parent into the school on Fox Chase Drive North.

Staff prevented the man from going into the secure area at the school, and he left the building, police said.

Police used information obtained from license plate readers to locate the man, identified as 30-year-old Jesus F. Rosas-Bailon, at his home in Aurora at around 11:30 a.m.

Rosas-Bailon was taken into custody on charges of disorderly conduct and trespassed from all District 308 schools.

He was released on recognizance and taken to a hospital for evaluation, police said. He is due in court on Nov. 5.

"Once the report was received and out of an abundance of caution, Oswego Police had officers situated at each school in Oswego, and the Community Unit School District 308 kept student activity indoors during the investigation of the incident," police said in a news release. "Oswego Police will have officers at schools Thursday during dismissal times to help alleviate any fears or concerns."
