Manassas man charged, accused of hitting, killing 90-year-old pedestrian
MANASSAS, Va. ( DC News Now ) — Officers said a man faces charges after he hit and killed a 90-year-old pedestrian.
On Monday, police were called to the 10100 block of Lake Jackson Dr. in Manassas around 4:20 p.m. for a man who was hit.
The Prince William County Police Department (PWCPD) said that 90-year-old Gary Paul Wilson, of Manassas, was walking on the shoulder of a road with no sidewalk. Responders took Wilson to the hospital, where he later died.

PWCPD investigators determined that Russell Anthony Carolla, who was driving the van that hit Wilson, was distracted at the time of the crash.
Carolla stayed at the scene after the incident.
Investigators said Carolla was charged with careless driving on Nov. 6. He was released on a court summons.
