SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A popular restaurant owned by an Israeli immigrant in San Francisco's Mission District was tagged with anti-Semitic graffiti Sunday afternoon.

Suspect arrested for murder after road rage crash in front of North Bay pumpkin patch, linked to 4 other crashes

Vandals targeted the restaurant during a Pro-Palestine protest at 16th and Valencia Streets, which coincided with the one-year anniversary of the October 7 Hamas attacks.

The owner, Manny Yekutiel, declined an interview with KRON4. On its website , Manny's describes itself as a "space where the community comes together to take part in civic and political life."

In a video post on the social platform X , Trevor Chandler, who is running for election to the San Francisco Board of Supervisors to represent District 9, expressed his outrage over the incident. "This afternoon, masked cowards vandalized Manny's with anti-Semitic graffiti. Let's be clear: Manny's was targeted because he is Jewish. No disagreement over foreign policy excuses this reprehensible behavior. Every person running in D9 and citywide needs to condemn this."

KRON4 reached out to the San Francisco Police Department for a statement but did not receive a comment in time for this report.
