WARREN, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – Maria Anastasiadis, 90, passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at St. Joseph Hospital in Warren.

Maria was born on June 9, 1934 in Warren, Ohio, a daughter of John and Amalia (Gianakos) Moures.

Maria was a 1952 graduate of Warren Township School in Leavittsburg where she was the Valedictorian. She went on to attend business college which led her to successful secretarial career at American Welding, Copperweld Steel and Warren Electric.

In 1954, Maria married the love of her life, Nicholas Anastasiadis. They shared 62 years of marriage together until Nick's passing in 2016.

Maria was devoted to her Greek Orthodox faith and heritage. She was the President of the Philoptochos Society, taught as a Sunday school teacher and a member of the Daughters of Penelope for St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church.

She enjoyed reading and was an outstanding cook and baker. Maria cherished traveling with her husband in her retirement years. Most of all, she adored her family and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Maria will always be remembered by her children, John (Cynthia) Anastasiadis of Erie, Pennsylvania, Dorothea (Mark) Dahl of Columbus, Ohio and Stephanie (Peter) Hunkar of Lakewood, Colorado; two granddaughters, Dr. Nicole Maria (Josh) Duggan and Kristen Maria Hunkar; great-grandson, Colson; sister, Irene (Michael) Giannakos; sisters-in-law, Evangelia Mahramas of Warren and Martha Anastasiadis and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Besides her parents, Maria was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas Anastasiadis and brothers, James, Steve and Michael Moures.

Family and friends may visit and pay tribute to Maria on Monday, November 11, 2024 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel of Warren , 1884 North Road NE and again on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Chruch, 429 High Street NE, Warren, OH 44481, where a funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Constantine Volantasis presiding.

Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Maria's name to St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 429 High Street NE, Warren, OH 44481
