Mark Cuban Defends Kamala Harris After Fox News Interview Backlash

Mark Cuban has defended Kamala Harris on social media after the vice president faced some backlash following her Fox News interview with Bret Baier.

Harris was interviewed by the host of Fox News' Special Report on October 16 in Pennsylvania three weeks before the 2024 election, and has faced backlash online from conservative commentators and Trump supporters , with Megyn Kelly noting that Baier took charge while Harris appeared "incapable."

Cuban, an outspoken critic of Donald Trump and supporter of Harris, weighed in on X, formerly Twitter, to defend Harris' performance , writing, "The beautiful thing about the interview is that understood and responded to each question."

Cuban added that when answering Baier's questions the vice president gave examples of policies, real-world context and "stood up to him with force and never backed down."

"When Brett went hard after her. She didn't call him names. She didn't quit the interview. She didn't make things up. She never once complained the questions were tough. She never played the victim card. She didn't lose her temper. She didn't take the bait to diminish or talk down to Trump supporters," Cuban wrote.

Cuban also noted how while Trump has been campaigning for nine years, Harris has "caught up to him" in just 100 days, adding, "That speaks volumes."

He concluded that, "She is everything her opponent is not and will never be. Strong, Smart and Measured."

Newsweek has contacted Mark Cuban , the Harris campaign, and the Trump campaign for comment outside of business hours.

Other Harris supporters on X also defended her performance, with a senior Harris advisor calling the interview an "ambush" and CNN media analyst Brian Stelter deeming it "one of the most adversarial interviews Kamala Harris has probably ever done."

He added that, "A lot of viewers are going to come away saying, 'Wow, she's willing to do that. That's a sign of toughness and strength.'"
