LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - The Marshall Street Armory is celebrating 100 years.

It was built back in 1924 and became host to Michigan's National Guard 119th Field Artillery Regiment.

The celebration featured guest speakers, as well as recognition for service members who played a key role in the armory's legacy.

The building is now used for several other organizations that help people in Mid-Michigan.

"The building is repurposed, we did it about 12 years ago and it's now a non-profit collaboration center. So, we have ten non-profits that are in the 40,000 square foot building that all have a common purpose - that purpose is to make our community better," said Pat Gillespie, President of the Gillespie Group.

The armory was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2010.
