Mary G Baca Obituary
Mom you are missed every single day by your daughters and their families, your hijito and your princess, by your friends and the huge east bay community you served for years. The community thanked you several times by writing about you in the local newspaper, awarding you the 1995 Senior Award by the City of Hayward, recommended by The Salvation Army for outstanding service for spending 3 days a week making 350 sandwiches each day and delivering food and clothes to those in need. Your donation of school supplies for "Tools for School" programs brought joy and excitement to the hundreds of children over the years as did your Christmas donations and work to provide for children in need. Your life included being a young and beautiful waitress during the war in Las Vegas, New Mexico, then marrying and moving to California, staying home to raise your family then returning to the workforce once your children were raised. When you retired you transitioned to many volunteer jobs including teaching afterschool catechism at St. Johns including on the day of the 1989 earthquake. You helped usher the children to safety. Your helper spirit was spread and shared throughout your life. Thank you for everything. We are proud and blessed to have a mother like you. We know you are dancing in heaven on your 100th birthday. We love you Mom.
