Matson overwhelms Glazebrooks to retain coroner position
Nov. 5—ANDERSON — Adam Matson will continue to serve as Madison County coroner after defeating Democrat Robert E. Glazebrooks II on Tuesday.
The Republican incumbent easily won election in his first bid for a full term after being named coroner by a local party caucus following the resignation of Dr. Troy Abbott.
Matson has previous experience as a deputy coroner and a firefighter paramedic.
Matson said he is happy to be able to continue serving the residents of Madison County.
"Just continue plugging away at how we are doing now," Matson said of his priorities moving forward. "I do not really have any big changes or anything that is going to happen. I just want to keep plugging away at the job at hand and keep doing the best for the citizens of the county and their families."
