SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - Shreveport Mayor Tom Arceneaux says incentives for police and fire departments could be in jeopardy. Arceneaux spoke on the issue during his weekly interview with KSLA News 12 on Wednesday, Nov. 13WATCH THE INTERVIEW>> According to the mayor, sales tax revenue was unexpectedly flat. He says they expected a 2.5 percent increase, but will now likely have to cut $3-4 million from the budget. "It impacts all departments, but we are having to back off some of the incentives for police and fire recruitment and retention because the money just isn't there," he said, The City of Shreveport is set to start its budget meeting today.
