Local Meet fellow anglers and learn more about an iconic sport at The Fresno Bee Fishing Expo

Please join us for The Fresno Bee Fishing Expo from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Sat., Nov. 9 at 700 Van Ness Ave., Fresno.

This is what we have planned:

Hear from Byron Stickler, who earlier this year caught a 33-inch, 18 pound, 5-ounce brown trout at Shaver Lake on Jan. 14. It was one of, if not, the largest brown trout caught in California in 2024.

You also can hear from Shaver Lake fishing guide Dick Nichols, who also runs Dicks Mountain Tackle. He will talk about catching kokanee.

Brian Klassen and Jim Tartagilia, two longtime anglers, will discuss catching King salmon.

Finally, Roger George , who along with Dave Hurley, write about fishing for The Fresno Bee and compile the Bee's weekly fishing report. George, who holds the Millerton Lake record for the largest striper caught, will talk about stripers.

There also will be display booths and plenty of your fellow anglers to enjoy a hardy discussion.
