Melania Trump reveals what she really thinks about 'top-level' of Secret Service and whether they can keep her husband safe

Former First Lady Melania Trump revealed Sunday that it was still hard to trust the Secret Service to protect her husband after former President Donald Trump was shot by a would-be assassin in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13.

The former first lady said she and her husband had a 'great team' on the ground protecting them, but called into question the leaders of the agency entrusted with their security.

'It's hard to say that you trust right, who you really trust,' she said. 'You want to but its always a question mark.'

Melania Trump said she hoped recent changes of leadership at the top of the agency would improve their level of protection.

'I think there is some, how something is going on at the top level or it was when that shooting happened,' she said. 'I know some people changed the positions but let's hope that will never happen again.'

Melania Trump detailed her thoughts about the Secret Service in an exclusive sit-down interview with Fox Business anchor Maria Bartiromo on Sunday.

The interview aired after former President Trump returned to rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday, finishing the speech he never got to finish after he was shot in the ear by a would-be assassin.

Melania Trump said she fully supported her husband returning to the scene.

'I think it's great, I'm supporting him and he is a fighter,' she said. 'He will never stop, he's on the go every day, he's helping this country.'

She said it was important for her husband to return to Butler.

'I think he wants to finish what he came to do, to finish his remarks, his speech and show that we will not stop ... that one shooter will not stop him.'

She admitted it was still difficult to relive the day she saw her husband shot on television, especially after watching new videos detailing just how close the bullet was to killing him.

'It's still very hard to see it,' she said. 'It's very hard to watch.'
