Mendota Trail reopens after fallen trees cleared
WASHINGTON COUNTY, Va. (WJHL) — The Mendota Trail in Washington County, Virginia has reopened after a number of trees fell across it.
On Thursday, the county announced that about 30 fallen trees were successfully removed from the trail.

The Mendota Trail had temporarily closed between Reedy Creek Road and the Benhams parking lot after it was deemed unsafe.
According to the county, a prompt response from maintenance crews allowed the trail to reopen.
"We're thrilled to welcome everyone back to experience the full trail," Kevin Hill, director of general services, stated in a news release. "The community's patience and support are greatly appreciated as we worked to ensure safe access for all visitors."
The Mendota Trail stretches 12.5 miles from Bristol, Virginia to Mendota.
