(KRON) — The Palo Alto Police Department (PAPD) said a suspect who used a golf club in an attempted murder has been arrested.

Woman alleges Diddy violently 'gang raped' her in Orinda as form of 'payback'

PAPD received the report on Oct. 14 at 3:45 p.m. from a woman who said her boyfriend had been attacked with a golf club along the creek embankment next to the 2000 block of East Bayshore Road. Officers arrived at the scene and discovered the victim with a major head injury, said investigators. Police said he was taken to a nearby hospital and is expected to survive.

Investigators learned that the suspect struck the victim with the club during an argument "while threatening to kill him." The woman told police that the suspect grabbed a nearby kitchen knife when her boyfriend hit the ground and threatened to kill him again. The suspect reportedly fled on his bicycle when she tried to intervene.

The suspect, identified as Franco Serapio, 48, of Menlo Park, surrendered to police Wednesday morning where he faces charges of attempted murder and criminal threats, as well as misdemeanor brandishing.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to call the Palo Alto Police Department at 650-329-2413.
