Girls Soccer

Spring-Ford 3, Perkiomen Valley 2 (2OT)

Spring-Ford rallied from a 2-0 halftime deficit in a thrilling Saturday afternoon PAC showdown, culminating in a Maddie Budka game-winning goal off an assist by Molly Kennedy 3:21 into the second overtime. The same combination delivered the game-tying tally 15:55 into the second half, this time with Kennedy scoring and Budka assisting. Ava Hissong also scored for the Rams, while Taylor Martin and Giavanna Marciano were the Perk Valley goal-scorers. Brianna Young added an assist for the Vikings, who got 17 saves from a stellar Anna Mecouch in goal. Olivia Neild turned away eight PV shots in goal for Spring-Ford.

Peddie School 2, Hill School 0

Reese Kowal and Aubrey Shaulis scored goals for Peddie and goalie Sadie Lawrence produced a clean sheet with three saves as Hill fell to Peddie on Saturday.

Matteo LoRegio's first-half goal was the difference-maker for Perkiomen Valley, which earned a hard-fought non-league win. LoRegio broke through after the Vikings applied waves of pressure on the reigning District 1-1A state champs in the first half, and PV keeper Gavin Moser made one save in the win.

Haverford 3, Methacton 0

Nate Spangenberg, Owen Papurt and Emilio Jiordano all scored for Haverford, which picked up a Saturday non-league win over Methacton. Cole Webb and Jason Lugo-Munoz teamed up to make a dozen saves in a losing effort for the Warriors.

Phoenixville 42, Pottstown 0

Talon Romance tossed three touchdown passes — two to Kevin Kingsbury and another to Deacon Williams, and Williams added 93 yards on the ground and an additional score as the Phantoms (5-1, 2-1 PAC Frontier) won their second straight game. Pottstown (1-6, 0-3) dropped its fifth straight game.

Upper Perkiomen 50, Upper Merion 28

Brody Weiss rushed for three scores and Zach Schwartz added two of his own as Upper Perkiomen (4-3, 1-2 Frontier) snapped a three-game skid at Upper Merion on Friday night. Vikings QB Jackson Solley connected twice with Kylee Hill through the air for touchdowns, while Erik Ramirez-Perez also grabbed two scores – one from Solley and an 87-yarder from Isaiah Wright. UM fell to 1-6 and 1-2 with the defeat.

Owen J. Roberts 42, Boyertown 0

The Wildcats secured their second consecutive shutout victory on Friday night, improving to 6-1 overall and 2-1 in PAC Liberty games. OJR can lock up second place in the division with wins at Methacton (Oct. 10) and Spring-Ford (Oct. 19) to close out its Liberty slate. Boyertown fell to 0-7 and 0-3 and will try its luck at an elusive first win when it hosts Spring-Ford on Friday night.

Methacton 26, Norristown 7

Methacton (3-4, 2-1) won for the third time in its last four games to stay in the PAC Liberty hunt heading into a critical home showdown with OJR on Thursday night. Norristown fell to 3-4 and 0-3 as the Eagles dropped their fourth consecutive contest.

Girls Volleyball

Upper Merion 3, Boyertown 0 (26-24, 25-17, 25-15)

Sophia Schweikert had 15 kills and Raven Albrecht posted 33 assists to lead the Vikings to victory over Boyertown. Valeria Paneto added 11 digs and Sydney Bright contributed four aces among her 14 service points.

Spring-Ford 3, Marple Newtown 0 (25-13, 25-13, 25-14)

Lauren Angelucci led the Spring-Ford attack with 18 kills in a Friday non-league win. Elle Sossong (six kills, four blocks, two digs and an ace) and Marley Angelucci (26 assists, two kills, three digs and an ace) also made significant contributions to the victory.

Phoenixville 3, Upper Perkiomen 1 (25-18, 25-15, 21-25, 25-20)

Phoenixville earned a hard-fought four-set win over Upper Perk, getting 13 kills, four digs and four aces from Kristen Brown and three kills, six digs and six aces from Ryleigh Galbreath. Annabelle Collins (four kills, six blocks), Gianna Buce (12 digs) and Megan Sakowski (nine digs) all showed up for the Phantoms in a big way as well.

Carmela Maro scored three times for the Warriors, who also got goals from Lea DeWan, Kyra Maurer and Anna Bravo in a Friday non-league triumph. Adriana Hopple assisted on four of Methacton's six goals, and Maddie McKenney had one save in goal.
