Meth, weapon, ammunition recovered in Rockford traffic stop

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Rockford Police recovered a large amount of ammunition, methamphetamine, and a loaded handgun during a traffic stop on Sunday.

According to authorities, police officers stopped a vehicle in the 100 block of Catherine Street around 11:57 p.m.

Joshua Cosmen, 32, faces charges of Unlawful Use of a Weapon by a Felon, Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Obstructing Identification, and several outstanding warrants.

Kimberly Gentry, 47, of Loves Park, was arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine.

Cosmen was booked into the Winnebago County Jail awaiting the outcome of a pretrial detention hearing.
