The Mexican national soccer team will play New Zealand in a friendly match at the Rose Bowl on Sept. 7 at 5:30 p.m. as part of its annual MexTour series.

The game falls during a FIFA international window, allowing Mexico to field its top players as it prepares for upcoming tournaments, including the 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup and 2026 World Cup.

This year's MexTour, now in its 21st year, features five matches across the United States — the most in the event's history. Other matches include: May 31 vs. Bolivia (Chicago), June 5 vs. Uruguay (Denver), June 8 vs. Brazil (College Station, Texas), and Sept. 10 vs. Canada (Arlington, Texas).

Mexico and New Zealand last met at the Rose Bowl in March 2010, drawing a MexTour record crowd of 90,526. Mexico won that match 2-0, with goals from Javier "Chicharito" Hernández and Carlos Vela. Overall, Mexico leads the all-time series with six wins, zero draws, and one loss.

Notable New Zealand players who could feature include Chris Wood, Sarpreet Singh, and Michael Boxall.

Tickets are not yet available through official channels, though some are being sold on secondary markets with prices ranging from $97 to $998.

The match will be broadcast in Spanish on TelevisaUnivision networks and in English on Fox Deportes.

Free shuttle service will be provided between Old Pasadena and the Rose Bowl, which has a seating capacity of 89,702, for the event.

The Federación Mexicana de Fútbol and Soccer United Marketing are organizing the match, with Adidas, AT&T and Michelob ULTRA as sponsors.
