Meyers defeats GAR in softball

WILKES-BARRE — Sarah McCann was 2-for-2 with a double to lead the Meyers’ offense in an 8-3 victory over GAR in a Wyoming Valley Conference Division 3 softball game Tuesday.
Gina Strillacci struck out four to earn the win on the mound.
GAR’s Brea Seabrook hit a home run and a triple.
Nanticoke 9, Lake-Lehman 0
Leandra Ramos was the winning pitcher, giving up only two hits as Nanticoke prevailed.
Kara Voyton, Kayla Gronkowski and Jenna Lipowski all had doubles for Nanticoke.
GIRLS LACROSSE
Wyoming Seminary 19, Tunkhannock 2
Grace Leahy totaled three goals for the Blue Knights in their win over the Tigers on Monday night.
Tunkhannock’s effort was led by two goals apiece from Kelley Gavin and Sarah Schulman.
BOYS VOLLEYBALL
Wyoming Valley West 3, Lake-Lehman 0
Mark Burridge totaled 20 kills while Ray Ercolani had 17 service points as the Spartans earned the win against the Black Knights.
Tunkhannock 3, Hazleton Area 2
Brett Barron had 26 assists while Alex Gregoire totaled 21 kills in the Cougars loss to the Tigers.

North Pocono 3, Delaware Valley 0
Connor Knight totaled 11 points in win for the Trojans.
Nanticoke 3, Crestwood 0
The Trojans were led by 27 assists from Ed Lukowski in the shutout win against the Comets.
Chris Dexter led Crestwood with 20 assists.
COLLEGE BASEBALL
Rutgers-Newark 7, Misericordia 5
Misericordia dropped a non-conference game at Rutgers-Newark.
Kyle Seawards led the Cougars with a three-run double. Steve Cuccio added a double.
Manhattanville 12, King’s 5
King’s jumped to an early 4-0 lead, but Manhattanville rallied with 12 unanswered runs to prevail.
Ryan Civello had three hits for King’s (7-16). Joe Zito added two more.

Corey Palma fired a 72 to pace King’s. Ryan Tracy followed with an 83.
Matt Kachurak paced Wilkes with a 75.
Both teams will be prepping for the MAC Championships this weekend at the Hershey Country Club.
