Sports Micah Scouts Fields: 'You're Less Valuable!' Trade Reaction

Micah Parsons' conversational skills never met a subject they didn't want to ... well, converse about. And that includes even frank talk about an upcoming Dallas Cowboys opponent.

This time around, though, as the Pittsburgh Steelers are set to play host to the Dallas Cowboys on "Sunday Night Football,'' he isn't even playing in the game ... and yet has plenty to say.

Don't be anxious about it, though, Cowboys Nation; the superstar edge rusher Parsons, his ankle injury having ruled him out for the Week 5 contest, is saying lovely things about an opponent - along with some nasty things about that opponent's former employer.

"I think Justin [has] won the team over," Parsons said of quarterback Justin Fields, who has jumped into the Steelers' starting job after the first-round pick was trade-dumped this spring from the Chicago Bears. "Justin is really, really good. ... I'm glad that the Steelers and Mike Tomlin [have] been able to get his confidence back, because the Bears probably stripped him of it.''

Oh-oh ... here we go ...

"They kinda said, 'We don't need you anymore. You're less valuable.' They kinda just shipped him off,'' Micah continued. "I thought the Bears should've kept him. And I thought Justin was a legit talent, and now he's somewhere else flourishing."

Parsons' evaluation of the Pittsburgh quarterback's situation might seem like "none of his business'' to some. But at least there is truth in what he is saying.

The Bears did give up on Fields, who was handed the Steelers job after Russell Wilson's calf injury and has done more than enough to retain his role. The Steelers are 3-1, Fields is playing the best ball of his career, and his athleticism makes him scary, especially when he goes off-script.

All of that has earned the quarterback praise from Micah on his podcast, " The Edge ."

Tomlin recently said Fields was "too sloppy'' in a recent performance, and Pittsburgh's strength its its defense, which allows just 13 points per game - tough task there for Dak Prescott and the 2-2 Cowboys. But Fields has completed over 70 percent of his passes through four games while setting career-best marks in passer rating, sack percentage, interception percentage, and yards per attempt.

After three unsuccessful years in Chicago, the Bears turned the page, using the No. 1 pick to take QB Caleb Williams. Overall, that makes sense. And the Steelers taking a one-year flier on Fields? To Micah, that is making sense as well, with Fields getting a chance to prove his supporters right once again on Sunday.
