Michigan senior pours dirt on reeling Ohio State football’s loss by questioning Buckeye toughness

ANN ARBOR, Michigan - Michigan wide receiver Roman Wilson wasn’t impressed. After Saturday’s 30-24 win over Ohio State, the question posed to Wilson was simple, and his answer was blunt. The Buckeyes had talked a lot about playing tougher this season, a reporter explained. Did Michigan see a change in their physicality? “No, definitely not,” Wilson said. “... You got guys who want to put on a Louis (Vitton), $1000 outfit. When you’re out there, you’re not hard. I see the film. You’re not tough. “I don’t think I’m the toughest guy in the world, but I’m out there. I’m getting physical. I don’t think they wanted it like how I wanted it.” Wilson’s answer came after Michigan ran for over 150 yards against Ohio State for the third straight time. The Wolverines ran for 123 of their 157 rushing yards in the second half, and they held the ball for 10 minutes in the fourth quarter. Meanwhile, the Buckeyes ran for 110 sack-adjusted yards and averaged 3.8 sack-adjusted yards per carry. Both figures would rank 100th or worse nationally over a full season. And while Ohio State could point to other measures of toughness, Wilson would disagree. “No, definitely not,” Wilson said. With his fiery soundbite, the Michigan senior spoke words to the reputation Ohio State has garnered during its three-game losing streak to the Wolverines. The Buckeyes might dress flashy, and they might light up the scoreboard. But when it comes time to win dirty, in Wilson’s eyes, they either can’t hang with a heavyweight like Michigan, or they don’t want to.
